A great game that is active and fun and it works for large or small groups.  Easy to set up and go!

Level: Beginner

Objective: To review music symbols and notes

Materials:

  • Click to download the notes and symbols

Where’s-Waldo-Music-Hunt.pdf (851 downloads)

Prepare:

  • Print out the notes and symbols and make copies for each student to play (see the materials for a link to download)
  • Hide the notes and symbols around the room
  • Find a special place for Waldo to hide — perhaps the hardest one to find of them all

Game Play:

Each student looks for the notes and symbols around the room.  When they find a note or a symbol, they can mark it off of their game card.  Once they have found all of the notes and symbols, they then need to go to Waldo and declare themselves the winner!

Variation for a classroom setting:

Place Waldo near the teacher — like on the teacher’s desk.  That way when they find Waldo, you can check and make sure they got all of their notes and symbols and send them to their desk for another activity while the others finish.
