I like to use this version for my students who can play some left hand.  If you want to, have them play just the top note of the left hand chord.  This song uses tonic, subdominant, and dominant chords, which is a great time to discuss with students.  It’s awesome to put those basic chords to use and see them first hand!  Check out my article Easy Music Theory: Tonic, Subdominant, and Dominant for more!

Level/Grade: Easy, Level 2

This version uses the tonic, subdominant, and dominant chords.  I love teaching about tonic, subdominant, and dominant chords with my students before introducing them to this song.  Playing these chords in the left hand are great for strengthening those fingers and gaining independence.  See my article on  Easy Music Theory: Tonic, Subdominant, and Dominant for more!
